A dessert wine so decadent it should be illegal. No, seriously, since 2006 it's been illegal for a domestic producer to use the words Port, Champagne or Sherry in deference to the authentic, European styles of wine they are copying. That said, imitation is the greatest form of flattery and Beringer's sweet Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfectly delicious guilty pleasure made better by 19 years in the bottle (trust me, this wine has the stuffing to handle it). Drink it, serve it with chocolate cake, hell, pour it over vanilla ice cream (just don't serve it to your Portuguese friends).
