The 2017 Skyline Pinot Noir is recommended for those with the patience and cellar to enjoy it in time (this is such a subjective nuance, but our official stance is at least 5 more years). The Skyline vineyard is planted at a dizzying 2,300 feet above sea level and is the crown jewel of the Rhys holdings. It is also unavailable even to most Rhys wine club members and truly a unicorn wine. The long, cool growing season at this extreme altitude (the Skyline vineyard is one of the highest Pinot Noir vineyards in California) allows Pinot Noir the time to express her most deeply-held secrets. A cornucopia of red and black berry fruits are dressed with French herbs, mushroom, perfume, dusty spice and just a certain je ne sais quoi only Pinot Noir acolytes will understand.
