Born from a near obsession with family, quality and authenticity, Castello di Amorosa is the life work of Dario Sattui, (progeny of Vitorio Sattui and responsible for the St. Helena winery of the same name's revival in the 1970s). This wine is not available outside of the winery member lists, so this is a great opportunity to snag some Napa Valley juice without the VIP price tag. Did I mention that its also a tad cheaper than going through them? Rhubarb, tart cherry and plenty of sweet oak crowd the palate and finish with a bright, tart Sangiovese finish.
